Hello, and welcome to a WKKW “catchup post” as we look at this year’s birthday photos for all three Wales children, including the new image of Prince George released for his 10th birthday tomorrow.
We begin with Prince Louis, whose birthday falls the earliest in the year, on April 22nd.
To mark the Prince’s fifth birthday, two photographs of the young man were released by Kensington Palace. Millie Pilkington shot the photos in April. Ms. Pilkington shot the private wedding photographs for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding—more from The Daily Mail’s story.
The youngster sits atop a pile of garden cuttings in one of the relaxed pictures taken in the garden of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, the family home.
Proud parents Kate and William said they were ‘delighted’ to share the images of their energetic youngest child tonight.
Here is a look at all three children in their fifth birthday photos.
And here is a look at how Prince Louis has grown over the years.
With thanks to Laura and Danielle, it turns out the Prince was wearing a past-season sweater by Lallie London, the Seamist Fairisle style. The company verified it was their design on Instagram.
Beneath the sweater, Found by Bojana suggests Prince Louis was wearing the Coconut Boy’s Dress Shirt by El Corte Ingles.
Another family photo was shared the day before Prince Louis’s birthday, released on what would have been Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 97th birthday.
It was taken by the Princess of Wales and showed the late Queen with some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the back row, you see Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex. Lena Tindall, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips, and Prince Louis are in the next row. Seated on the sofa with the Queen, Mia Tindall holds Lucas Tindall, and Savannah Phillips sits to the Queen’s left.
In the new photo, it looks like Prince Louis is wearing a shirt previously worn by Prince George in his official 4th birthday photograph. It is the Amaia Kids Pereprine Shirt ($76) in Seersucker Blue, a 100% cotton style with a stand collar and front buttons.
Prince George may have been wearing the Camel Check Oliver Shirt ($85) from Trotters.
Princess Charlotte appears to have worn a design by crewcuts from J Crew, the Floral Smocked Dress with Long Sleeves (sold out), a past-season style featuring a squared neckline, long sleeves, and a ruffle.
Both Prince George’s shirt and Princess Charlotte’s dress are also IDs from Found by Bojana.

Now for photos celebrating Princess Charlotte’s 8th birthday on May 2nd. Kensington Palace released two photographs to mark the occasion. This image, also taken by Millie Pilkington, shows the Princess cuddling with Orla, the family’s cocker spaniel.
And this photo was taken by the Princess of Wales the weekend before Charlotte’s birthday.
Here is our look at the Princess through the years.
In the first photo, Princess Charlotte wears a Boden sweater, the British retailer’s Volume Sleeve Texture Sweater (from £22 in limited sizes). The striped sweater is done in a blend of 45% polyamide/35% wool/15% cotton/5% alpaca and showcases balloon sleeves with ribbing at the collar, cuff, and hem.
In the second photo, the Princess is in a design by Trotters, the Frances Willow Sun Dress ($98).
The dress is 100% cotton in a material often called ‘Swiss Dot’ or ‘Plumetis,’ referencing the raised dots of the fabric. The lining of the dress is also cotton. The sleeveless style features a delicate floral print, a full skirt, and pearlized buttons on the back. Thank you to Chronicling Kate and Found by Bojana for this ID.

Happy 10th Birthday, Prince George!
The photo was taken in Windsor earlier this month by Millie Pilkington—more on the image from this column in The Telegraph.
The eyes are direct to camera. The smile is open and engaging. Looking more mature than his years, and remarkably like his father, it’s clear from the photograph that Kensington Palace have released to mark his birthday that Prince George, who turns 10 today, is becoming more comfortable with the responsibilities that will eventually fall to him.
It is hard to believe this photo from the Prince’s first birthday was taken ten years ago.
It has been a delight to watch him growing up, whether on his first royal tour to New Zealand or Australia.
He had the best faces during that tour.
Just before Christmas 2014, new images were released of George.
His personality really started to shine in these pictures.

Or at her christening.

On another tour, this one to Canada in 2016.

The Prince had quite a series of page-boy duties over the years.

It is when you look at photo montages you really see the young man’s growth. Here is a review of official photos released for the Prince’s birthdays. Below, the first five years.
And here are images from his last five birthdays.
You really see the changes when looking at headshots.
Especially these last five years.
Now for a look at what Prince George wore in the new photo. He appears to be in the same trousers and shoes seen last week at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
His shirt is a classic checked style, similar to those he has worn from Pepa and Company, Amaia Kids, and Trotters. It looks like all cotton in a navy and green tattersall check. His shoes look like the Papouelli’ Arthur’ Brogues in chocolate suede (starting at £88, about $113 at today’s exchange rates), another fab ID from Found by Bojana.
I will update the post if I learn more about the shirt or trousers.
I know many of you have wondered about the status and future of this site. I have also wondered in light of the increasing costs to maintain the site and license photos. In the next month to six weeks, I will get caught up with the engagements since Easter. Hopefully, I will continue with the site after that, but if not, I will do a post sharing that information.
