Today we heard all three Cambridge children speak as they quizzed Sir David Attenborough about the natural world.
In a video released this morning, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis each ask the renowned broadcaster/naturalist a question. Here is a look at the video; the children’s questions were shot by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Sir David Attenborough, we've got some questions for you…??️? pic.twitter.com/MTQ68WnOrt

This ties into Sir David’s new film, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet. Last Saturday we saw photos of the children meeting Sir David as the family joined him to watch a screening of the documentary.
Now for a quick look at what the children wore.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were both in pieces from their Thomas’s Battersea school uniforms. Below, the children on their first day of school in September 2019.
Prince George wore his Battersea Rugby Shirt (£30, about $39), 100% polyester in red and navy with the school’s logo.
Princess Charlotte was also in school uniform pieces.
Her sleeveless pinafore (starting at £47) comes in two fabric blends, a poly/wool blend and a poly/viscose blend. The pinafores have a centre-back zipper and pockets. The short-sleeve blouse (£30 for a two-pack) has blue piping on the collar and at the sleeve hems. For more on Princess Charlotte’s uniform, this post has additional detail. All of George and Charlotte’s uniform pieces are from Perry Uniform, based in Leeds.
Prince Louis was in a striped sweater atop a navy polo shirt. With thanks to Laura, it looks like his sweater with a touch of nautical appeal is by John Lewis, the UK retailer’s Baby Organic Cotton Stripe Jumper (£9.80, roughly $14 at today’s exchange rates). It is a past season design and no longer available.
The piece is 100% organic cotton with sailor stripes, ribbed contrast trim at the collar and shoulder, and ribbing at the cuffs and hem.
What a lovely surprise on an October Saturday morning!
Such a lively video and beautifully done. Sir David seems entirely at home with youngsters and these three have any amount of character and spark. George’s school rugby shirt is very smart with its navy contrasts and golden English lion. Charlotte looks quite prim in her school apron dress and hair swept back, though it’s all much softened by her charm. Interesting to see ordinary school uniform being featured in this way, perhaps an egalitarian gesture.
It’s Louis who stole the show for me, with his piping voice and confident expression. The stripes on his John Lewis jumper echo those on the H&M tee shirt issued in support of the Ben Ainslie 1851 sailing Trust. I admired the subtle way just a couple of red stripes were used then among the navy and white, to give the colours of the UK national flag for a British team. George’s red stripe here is more bold, but still discreet, and stops short of turning him into a flag. And anyway, who’s looking given the delight of hearing him speak!
I’m not English but I think that is an unicorn on George’s rugby shirt.
What a wonderful surprise! Getting to hear the Cambridge children’s voices as well as seeing them was great! It’s astounding how much Louis favors George. Kate needs to have another princess for Charlotte’s sake and…so we may see how beautifully she dresses her!
I keep watching it again and again it’s so adorable. What a nice surprise to hear them all speaking in a video.
You’re not the only one who has watched it more than once! ?
Lovely to see how they all were so clear with their questions….and the responds from David was so “grandad like”. Of course, it’s lovely that they are all love animals….we could not live without them….
I loved listening to George, Charlotte, and Louis asking English childlike questions to Mr. Animal man.
They seemed excited to state their questions and wait for the answers.
This was a delightful childhood moment.
It is so precious to get to hear childlike English accents, of George, Charlotte, and Louis.
They seemed enthralled with Mr. Animal man and their questions were delightful
This is what I love, the down to earth children being just kids.
They are all so cute. I love how Prince Louis says amimal.
I think Princess Charlotte has a shy crush on Sir David! In the picture of the whole family with him, the way she’s standing is so typical of a five year old who is just about overwhelmed with happiness at being in the presence of someone they adore but don’t get to see often. And in the video she is also displaying what seems to be an uncharacteristic shyness at the very thought of asking him a question — it’s just adorable! Prince George is more direct and forceful with his question – no longer the shy boy we have come to know. And Prince Louis was just so determined to get his question out and seemed so relieved when he managed to do it! This truly was a treat on a dismal Saturday in a world of so much depressing news.
