Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis looked like they had a rollicking good time at a polo match today.

They were at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day.
It was the first time we have seen the youngest prince at a polo match.
Tiny Archie Sussex was also at his first match.

Louis seemed to be enjoying himself immensely.

There was a picnic.
And some soccer.

Now take a look at the lower left of this photo…do you see the little hands reaching for Kate’s sunglasses?

Prince George managing a mallet.
It took me back to one of our first glimpses of the prince at a polo match.
This was in 2015 at the Festival of Polo.
The children really seemed to be having a good time.
UPDATE JULY 22: Here is an additional photo that was shared today on Twitter by The Army in London. In the lower left corner, you see Domhnall, the mascot of The Irish Guards.
Now for what we think they are wearing. Prince George was in his H&M polo shirt, from the company’s LOGG line ( Label of Graded Goods). We first saw it worn to the Houghton Horse Trials in 2018 (photo here) and most recently when the Cambridge children visited the Back to Nature Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show preview.
George could be wearing a pair of shorts by Gap.

They look like the Toddler Cargo style ($11.99), made of 100% cotton with an elastic waist, faux button front, and multiple pockets. The shorts also come in boys’ sizes, but those do not have the same elastic waist. Many thanks to Bojana for the shorts info! It also looks like the Prince is in his Hampton Court sneakers from Trotters.
I initially thought Princess Charlotte *might* have been in the same dress worn to the Chelsea Flower Show preview, but now don’t believe that is the case. The detail on her collar is different; the Flower Show dress has a Peter Pan collar with rounded edges, while today’s style looks like the there is a more pointed edge to the collar. (I’m still hunting for photos with better detail.) It also looks like there are pintucks on the bodice of her dress, as opposed to the buttons on the other frock.

UPDATE JULY 11: We have an ID on Charlotte’s dress. It is the ‘Celina’ style ($196) by Marie-Chantal.
Done in a Liberty wildflower print, the dress features pintucks on the bodice and skirt, a pointed collar, and button-back with a lightly elasticated skirt.
The style is available in additional colorways: on the left, a darker floral print ($230) and a solid pink ($280). Many thanks to all letting me know about the dress identification. A big ‘thank you’ to the UFO No More crew for their dress ID.
This is not the first time we have seen the Princess wearing the brand.
When heading off for her first day of nursery school in 2018 Charlotte had on a cashmere scarf by the brand.
Specializing in luxury childrenswear, the brand was founded in 2000 by Princess Marie-Chantal, wife of Crown Prince Pavlos, the eldest son of King Constantine II of Greece.
More from a 2018 Daily Telegraph story:
“Everyone loves a bit of traditional style, whether it’s a collared shirt or a sweet smocked dress,” Marie-Chantal says, beaming and winking in the direction of her spokestoddler. She should know.
Her cloud-soft cashmere jumpers, frothy tutus and miniature duffel coats have become favourites of the likes of Princesses Estelle and Leonore of Sweden (ages six and four) and author Plum Sykes, who cites Marie-Chantal cashmere jumpers as one of her greatest parenting indulgences.
Gabi suggested on Twitter Charlotte was in a pair of the Isla Sandals ($18.50 to $31 depending on size) from John Lewis; I think Gabi is spot-on with the ID.
UPDATE JULY 11: In some photos, the Princess is seen with a toy or little purse on a polo mallet.

With thanks once again to Polux1030 for her help, it looks like it could be the Unicorn Wristlet by Ty. You can just see the brand’s signature red heart in some photos. The little purse zips closed, has big eyes and reversible sequins that can be changed to create an iridescent look. Here you can see it in Charlotte’s left hand. Embed from Getty Images
We show it at The Paper Store ($4.89) and also at Amazon ($7.89). It does come in other colors and motifs, like a flamingo, cat, and other designs. Polux1030 believes Charlotte was using one of the pieces in the Tinc Geometric Snack Box Set, also visible in the photo above. The set was carried at John Lewis but it is no longer available. Tinc is a UK-based brand offering what looks like an excellent array of “stationery, gadgets and gifts for kids of all ages.”
Bojana suggests the princess may have been using a Thermos FUNtainer floral piece with the brand’s Lid and Mouthpiece Set (£5.95) shown below right. The brand is also offered at Amazon.
A reminder for savvy shoppers, Amazon’s annual Prime Day (now expanded to two days) with the associated sale pricing and promotions is next Monday/Tuesday, the 15th/16th. If thinking about shopping, the NY Times has a good piece titled 5 Things to Avoid on Amazon Prime Day.
Prince Louis was darling and looked he could be a little scamp. Embed from Getty Images
Here are some possibles for what he wore, with the caveat that it is very tough to see the details in today’s photos. On the left, we show the Baby Boys’ Bodysuit with Polo Collar ($11 – 12.50 depending on size) from Petit Bateau. It is done in a ribbed knit, with snaps at the collar and also between the legs. Many thanks to Polux1030 for this suggestion! In the middle, the Boys Twill Chino Shorts ($29) from Jojo Maman Bébé. The shorts Louis wore today have a distinctive label on the back right waistband that resembles the Jojo Maman Bébé label. The style is 100% cotton with a button-adjustable waist and elastic at the back, front and back pockets and a faux fly front. Thanks for this suggestion go to Bojana!
Below, the Early Days Alex II First Walker (£45), a candidate for the young prince’s shoes. The Alex II is a unisex T-bar style in leather with a side buckle fastening. (Although Louis and Charlotte have had pieces passed down from George, the shoes Louis had on today are not the Start-Rite Jo style George wore; the top of the T-bar is wider than on Prince George’s shoes.)
UPDATE JULY 11: Many thanks to those commenting that it looks like Louis’s shoes may be made of canvas; I think that is the case. DL suggests in a comment he could be wearing the Pepito Lona (€13.55, roughly $15 at today’s exchange rates) by Pisamonas, a brand Prince George has worn. The canvas style is a classic t-bar design with an adjustable side buckle, and the shoes can be machine-washed. The shoes are made in Spain, so they are certainly in keeping with the Duchess’s fondness for Spanish clothing and shoe brands. The company also has a UK website, although this style isn’t shown as being available. I have contacted the company asking if they can confirm this is the style Prince Louis was wearing.
It was a treat to see all three children today, along with their cousin Archie!

Hello, do you think that Charlotte is wearing a size 4Y or 5Y for the dress?
Gosh, that is something I have no clue about. I wouldn’t know if she was either of those sizes, to be honest. I’m sorry I’m not more helpful. ?
Town and Country has id’d Charlotte’s dress as the Celina dress by Marie-Chantal (https://mariechantal.com/girls/poplin-pintuck-dress-liberty/).
🙂
Any ideas on Archie’s baby blanket? I’ve looked and looked with no luck 🙁
H, Christine! We have more info in our What Meghan Wore post (http://bit.ly/WMW10June19). The quick answer is that it is by Malabar Baby, here is a link: https://rstyle.me/+FVXIMapXzaovvE2O9Z66ig 🙂
I got so confused when I first saw pictures of Kate at this event with what looked like a smaller version of George, had he shrunk in the wash? I had to work out that it was Louis Kate was holding, I had missed the bit where he is beginning to look like a growing boy!
The children all look fantastic, can’t believe how grown-up George looks or how long Charlotte’s legs are becoming. Top marks for getting so many IDs, at least it looks as if Louis got to wear his own clothes and not hand-me-downs 😉 Charlotte’s Marie-Chantal dress is the prettiest in that sweet multi-coloured Liberty print and with those pin-tucks all round the hem, and her sandals are just cute.
And George looks really rugged in his camouflage pants, they make wearing short trousers look more grown up. I wondered if he was in the Trotters sneakers of which I myself now have two very comfortable pairs! Great post, thanks for all your work.
Two pairs, there’s a ringing endorsement if ever there was one! 🙂
Sorry for my english (i’m french) but where does their lunch box come from please ?
Hey Elo, I am not an expert but I think it is an old style from Paperchase. They make a lot of lunch containers in that shape with different images: https://www.paperchase.com/en_gb/gifts/home-and-kitchen/lunch-boxes-bottles?pc_product_category=230
No worries about your English *at all*, I assure you it is better than my French! The lunch box is from John Lewis, the Tinc Geometric Kids Lunchbox. Unfortunately it is no longer available there. The only place I have been able to lcate it for sale is at Malik’s bookstores, but I do not see an ecommerce site.
Thanks you !
I think Louis is wearing canvas T bar shoes, a bit like the ones they sell at pisamonas. https://www.pisamonas.pt/sapato-pepito-lona
You can see it better in the pics he is trying to climb a step
I believe Charlotte’s dress might be from Marie Chantel????
Hi Anne, and thank you! I just now got the post partially updated with the dress info, although I need to add a few other items. You’re lovely to share a heads-up! 🙂
Marie Chantal Children confirmed on IG that Charlotte is wearing their dress. 🙂
Thank you, Dina! I just got the dress info added to the post. You are wonderful to post the information! 🙂
Charlotte wears Marie-Chantal
Thank you for sharing the brand, Alexandra! I am still playing catch-up but have the updated info in the post. 🙂
What a lovely day for this sweet family! The young princess seems to be wearing a Marie-Chantal Liberty print dress — found here: https://mariechantal.com/girls/poplin-pintuck-dress-liberty/ ?
You are wonderful to share the link, Charlotte, thank you! I just got the info added to the post.:)
Hey! Could the shoes prince Louis is wearing be from Dona Carmen? Princes Charlotte has worn this brand before.
Greetings,
Liz (Belgium)
Yeah, they look more like the canvas T bar shoes from the company (no longer available) I say this because the pepito lona shoes have blue buckles while the shoes from Doña Carmen have silver buckles like Louis’ shoes
