George & Charlotte in Familiar Brands for Weekend Outings

Posted on June 1, 2016 by WKKW

As many readers may be aware, this weekend Kate took George and Charlotte to the Houghton Hall Horse Trials, formally known as the Houghton International Horse Trials. The event is not far from their country home.

More from The Daily Mail:

Houghton Hall is one of the grandest homes in the area. Built for the de facto first British Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, it is considered a landmark example of Palladian architecture.

…it’s surrounded by 1,000 acres of parkland, which is adjacent to Sandringham House, the Queen’s private Norfolk residence where she enjoys spending Christmas.

The Horse Trials involve internationally ranked equestrians competing in a variety of disciplines.

Kate and the children attend the Trials two days; Prince William joined them on Saturday. More from People magazine:

The royal family “were just hanging out at the horse trials with a bunch of friends,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE.

“They sat with the kids by the grass beside the lake with all the public. They were literally just having an ordinary day out, sitting on the grass in jeans. Charlotte was running around. She’s little but she’s a good mover!”

In addition to the equine events there was also a cricket match at the Hall, benefiting a charity Prince Harry is involved with, Walking with the Wounded.

Moving to what the kids wore this weekend, a look at George’s ensemble.

George Houghton Horse Trials May 2016 Updated Gap Shorts Graphic Made July 25 2016

The young Prince was in the following:

  • The Next Navy Stripe Crewneck (£13 – £18).
  • I think George could be wearing the Trotters Harry Polo Shirt in pale blue (£20 or 2 for £35). Another possibility or ‘repliGeorge’ is Mayoral’s Basic Polo Shirt in sky blue (£8.99).
  • UPDATED JULY 25: After Bojana Mojsova’s ID of George’s shorts at the Air Show, she asked if the shorts worn to the Horse Trials could be the same pair, and I think they probably are. It very much looks like the Prince was in his Gap Solid Flat Front Shorts. Thank you Bojana! look a lot like the Amaia Kids Carefree Shorts in navy (£40).  The Trotters navy Ben Shorts (¢22) *could* be a possibility, except I think George’s have a front zipper; the Ben is a pull-on style.
  • It looks like George wore the Chuck Taylor All Star 2V Trainers from Converse. We show them at Trotters (£28), US shoppers can find them at Zappos ($35, free shipping); Amazon also stocks the shoe.
  • We show the Ankle Socks at Trotters (£3.99), but George could be wearing any number of brands. Condor’s Plain Stitch Ankle Sock in navy is a possibility, they make the knee highs sold at Amaia Kids George so frequently wears.

It appears Charlotte had on one of her Amaia Kids hair bows, either the Capri or Denim color. It also looks like the little Princess could have been wearing a cardigan from favorite label m&h.

Below you see the two blue shades for the M&H cardigans. The retailer verifies Charlotte was in one of their sweaters, but yours truly forgot to ask for the specific color she wore, the Blue or the Medium Blue.

I believe Charlotte was wearing the dress seen in the pictures released just before her first birthday. It is difficult to tell because this weekend’s photo shows just a teeny bit of her dress or top.

In addition to watching the Saturday events, Kate and the children returned for Sunday’s competition. Lou Grey Cashmere was exhibiting at the event this weekend, the company shared a photo of Kate with George.

For that day’s excursion Prince George wore a jacket that looked quite similar to the Joules Baby Milford style we have seen him wear previously.  He couldn’t still be wearing that exact garment, it would be much too small for him. It’s possible Kate bought the jacket in several sizes when she had the opportunity, we have seen her do that with her personal wardrobe. Or it’s another piece altogether.

We offer a number of denim options as well, recognizing that it’s unlikely we’ll ever know the precise brand and/or style with a photo this size.

Hi! Now that we identified George’s shorts worn at the Air Tattoo Show (Gap Solid Flat Front Shorts), to me it looks like he is also wearing them at The Horse Trials – the button on the back pocket can be seen good on the photo where William is holding him and also, on one photo with Kate you can see that there isn’t a button fastener on the front.

That was a brilliant suggestion, it looks like he was in the same pair of shorts. I’ve updated the post to reflect the Gap shorts as the likely ID, thank you for the suggestion! http://bit.ly/WKKW31May2016 🙂
